Day 1: Arrival in Santa Cruz — Giant Tortoises in the Highlands
Your honeymoon begins at Baltra Airport, where our team is waiting to welcome you both and take care of the arrival formalities and your luggage. A short ride and a ferry crossing over the Itabaca Channel bring you to Santa Cruz Island.
Instead of heading straight into town, we climb into the highlands, where the dry coast gives way to a cool, misty forest that feels like a different island altogether. At a private giant tortoise ranch, hundreds of tortoises move slowly across open pasture and ponds wild, unfenced, some weighing over 250 kilos and older than any of us. There is something unexpectedly moving about standing quietly beside an animal that has been alive for more than a century. Take your time; the paths are wide, unhurried and there is rarely anyone else around.
In the late afternoon we descend to Puerto Ayora and check you into your hotel. The rest of the day is yours. The waterfront is a short walk away, and the best tables in town look straight out over the bay the ideal place to watch your first Galápagos sunset together.

Day 2: Tortuga Bay & Kayaking
Today there are no boats to catch and no schedule to keep. Tortuga Bay is reached on foot, by a 40-minute trail through cactus forest that begins at the edge of Puerto Ayora — an easy, shaded walk with nothing but the sound of finches along the way.
The trail ends at a long stretch of fine white sand facing open ocean. The surf here is strong and the beach is beautiful but not for swimming, so keep walking: at the far end, past a headland where marine iguanas pile onto the black rock by the hundreds, the coast opens into a sheltered turquoise lagoon ringed by mangroves. The water is calm, shallow and warm.
This is where we kayak. You paddle at your own pace through still water where sea turtles surface beside you, small reef sharks patrol the shallows and pelicans and herons work the mangrove edges. On weekday mornings you may well have the lagoon entirely to yourselves.
Afterwards there is time to swim, lie in the shade of the mangroves and walk back at whatever hour suits you. The afternoon is free — Puerto Ayora is small, walkable and full of good places to eat.

Day 3: Isabela Island — Flamingo Lagoon, Wall of Tears Bike Ride & Sunset
We leave Puerto Ayora in the morning for the two-hour crossing to Isabela, the largest island in the archipelago and the quietest of the three inhabited ones. Rays, sea turtles and dolphins often appear alongside the boat.
Puerto Villamil changes the pace of the trip immediately. There are no paved roads just sand streets, palm trees, hammocks, and a beach that runs for kilometers with almost no one on it. After checking in and having lunch, the afternoon is yours, and the best way to spend it is on two wheels.
We provide bicycles for the ride out to the Wall of Tears, a flat six-kilometer track that follows the coast west of town. There is no guide and no schedule you stop where you want, for as long as you want. On the way: the flamingo lagoon, where fewer than 500 Galápagos flamingos remain across all the islands; Playa del Amor, a small empty cove; Poza Redonda, a collapsed lava sinkhole filled with seawater; and a mangrove boardwalk where giant tortoises often wander across the path.
The road ends at the Wall of Tears itself, built stone by stone by prisoners under brutal conditions in the 1940s a rare and sobering reminder that these islands have a human history too. A staircase climbs to Cerro Orchilla, a lookout with the finest view on the island: the volcanoes to the north, the wetlands below, and the Pacific stretching west.
Time the ride back for sunset. Isabela's is the best in Galápagos the beach faces west, the sky turns for a long half hour, and there is almost no one there to share it with.
Day 4: Los Túneles Snorkeling & a Sunset Dinner for Two
This is the day most travelers remember longest. We leave Puerto Villamil in the morning by small boat, following the southern coast of Isabela for about 45 minutes until the shoreline opens into something that looks invented: hundreds of lava arches and bridges rising just above the waterline, formed when molten rock met the sea and cooled mid-collapse. Cactus and mangrove have taken root on top. Blue-footed boobies nest on the arches, and the water between them is so still and clear you can count the fish from the boat.
Our captain navigates slowly through the channels before we go in.
The snorkel here is shallow and current-free no experience needed, and nothing like swimming in open ocean. Below you: sea turtles grazing on algae, entirely unbothered by your presence; white-tip reef sharks resting motionless beneath the lava ledges; golden rays and eagle rays crossing the sand; and seahorses gripping the mangrove roots for those who look closely. Galápagos penguins often fish nearby.
We return to Puerto Villamil in the early afternoon, and the rest of the day is yours a hammock, the beach, or nothing at all.
In the evening, a dinner for two as the sun goes down over the Pacific. Fresh seafood, a table by the water, and the long slow light that makes Isabela's sunsets the finest in the archipelago.

Day 5: Return to Santa Cruz — Academy Bay Tour & Snorkeling)
An early start today: we board the morning speedboat back to Santa Cruz, arriving in Puerto Ayora before the town has properly woken up. After checking into your hotel there is time for breakfast on the waterfront and a slow morning.
In the afternoon, a private boat is waiting for the two of you at the pier. The bay tour follows the coastline of Academy Bay, stopping wherever the wildlife is: Playa de los Perros, a small beach where marine iguanas gather on the black rock and blue-footed boobies fish just offshore; Punta Estrada, with its mangrove-lined channels; and the Canal del Amor, a narrow turquoise channel between two lava walls where white-tip reef sharks pass beneath the boat.
We anchor for a guided snorkel in sheltered water, among sea turtles, rays and colorful reef fish, then continue past La Lobería, where sea lions haul out on the rocks in the late light, and view Las Grietas from the water.
We return to the pier at dusk. The evening is free in Puerto Ayora, where the best restaurants sit right on the water a fitting last night in the islands.

Day 6: Departure — The First Trip of Many
After breakfast there is time for a last walk along the waterfront, a coffee overlooking the bay, or a few things to take home from the shops on Avenida Charles Darwin. Our assistant then collects you from the hotel and transfers you across Santa Cruz to the Itabaca Channel, where a short ferry crossing and a brief ride bring you to Baltra Airport in time for your flight. We stay with you through check-in.
You leave with something these islands give every visitor, and something only the two of you will have: the sea lion that swam over to look at you, the lagoon you had entirely to yourselves, the evening the sky turned pink over Villamil and neither of you said anything for a while.
Of all the places to begin a marriage, few are as good at reminding you how much of the world is still worth seeing.

“Pedro was a fantastic tour guide. I’d highly recommend booking this tour, it’s a combo of shared tours with a guide and a private tour. What’s even better is he acts as your have your own personal photographer and if you have dietary requirements this is perfect, since we don’t know the language Pedro handled everything.”

From the moment we arrived, everything felt easy and smooth. But what I really loved is that it didn’t feel like a structured tour. It felt more like traveling with friends, where someone else had already taken care of all the details. We just showed up, enjoyed, and lived in the moment.”

The water in the Galápagos Islands is so clear it almost feels unreal, and snorkeling there was simply incredible. Everything feels so pure and natural… you truly connect with the place.
I love penguins, and I really wanted to see them but I also knew it’s not always easy. And just when I wasn’t expecting it anymore, they appeared.”
